Welcome to the Mountain Goat Cabin Trail Race. This fall our annual trail running event is back! This year we’ve chosen to partner with Merck Forest & Farmland Center to host the trail run event. The Cabin Trail Run is the main event of the day with a rugged and beautiful run along the trails and forest roads near Mt Antoine followed by a kids fun run looping the farm road near the Sap House.
Details: The event will be hosted at the Merck Forest and Farmland Center in Rupert, Vermont on September 13th. The adult Cabin Trail Race will begin at 8:30am. This run has 2 aid stations and 2 check-in's at the famed Ned's Place and The Glen. As part of Merck Forest's 75th Anniversary runners will be invited to experience the two famed cabins along their run. All runners will be given a small maple coin in which they will have stamped at both cabins to check-in. Runners will need to have their bibs clearly visible pinned to their outfit. We look forward to seeing you out there! The kids run will be a fun ~0,5 mile loop surrounding the farm on dirt road.
Packet Pick-Up: Available Friday September 12th from 11am-6pm at the Mountain Goat in Manchester. Available race day from 7:45am-8:30am at the start line near the Sap House.
Parking: All parking is available in the main lot once you enter Merck Forest. From the lot you'll walk roughly ¼ of a mile along the dirt road to the Sap House where the start and packet pick-up will be.
Dogs: Although we all love happy dogs, dogs are not invited to join you on the race course. Thank you for keeping our runners safe and respecting our fellow community members out on the trail!
Maps & Courses: We'll soon update the event notes with GAIA and STRAVA maps of the Cabin Trail Race and Kids Race.
